All the versions of this article:

Peter Zimmermann is a German artist born in 1956. He lives and works in Cologne.

He has a new website on which you can see all the different periods of his work. From his posters and printed cardboards of the early 90’s until his latest paintings made of epoxy resin. This last evolution of his work with epoxy resin on canvas has brought him an international recognition.

You can also discover on his site his special projects and especially his latest one. Peter Zimmermann was commissioned, together with German artists Anselm Reyle and Olaf Nicolai, by the car brand Bugatti to conceive a piece for their new pavilion of exhibition in Wolfsburg, near Hanover. This project is his most ambitious until now. After creating a geometric abstract motif on his computer, he had it reproduced on fabric woven of a dimension of 8m high by 22m wide which is presented in the pavilion like a huge curtain.

Here are two videos produced for his solo exhibition at the Columbus Museum of Art in Ohio late 2008.

Peter Zimmermann will have a solo show at the MMKK in Klagenfurt, Austria from March 21st to June 14th 2009. It will be the most important and exhaustive exhibition of the artist to date.

He’s represented in Paris by the gallery Emmanuel Perrotin and in Berlin by the gallery Michael Janssen.

All paintings : epoxy resin on canvas.
